I used to be on the second page of google when you typed in Front and now im on the fourth, not good! so if i put this post up it may help with getting on the first page. There is another post im going to put up in the next week about Front and desperately wanting a work placement on their graphics team, but for now here are some image i did for a one day project which I found from last year (a day in the life of).
wilfred owen: Dulce et Decorum est
I was cleaning out my room the other day and came across all my old english notes from gcse, i found a file saying “war poetry” and the first poem on top was this, Wilfred Owen: Dulce et Decorum est. I remember studying this poem in a lot of depth and found it quite moving and sombre. I wanted to set my self a challenge to make some what of a graphic piece in homage to this extremely famous poem. As typography aint my strongest point in graphics design but really interests me i thought this would be a fitting way to go about things. The image below is my typography piece which i believe shows the sadness of the poem and is also a visual representation of the poem.

i have wanted to change the blog header for a while now and finally got round to it so here it is! I recorded my work to show me making the gif animations which is below hope you enjoy. (header uploaded soon!!!)

stumbled upon: kawaii clothing
kawaii clothing was my clothing line which i stared up for my final major project for foundation art. I was looking through files on my mac today and came across the gif animations for the myspace page, brings back a few memories. The header dosen’t work but still love the design, i was the first if not the only person to have gif animated myspaces. I have always wanted to start a new company up but never had the time, maybe i will have a little time in the next few weeks to look in to it.

Was watching the film a month ago with my girlfriend Kat, and we both agreed that this was both our favourite quote from the film. I was racking my brain of how to incorporate it in to maybe some work and came up with this:

The idea was carving the person you love and your names in wood, i think it looks good but tis quite dark, the problem is if i make it lighter it wont look like it has been carved but just placed over the top.
Babushka phill
I recently had the urge to do this, i sent this as a surprise prezzie for my girlfriend. Buying in blank babushka dolls (or Russian stacking dolls) and using acrylic paint to customise them. The doll is painted to look like me and there are little quirky inside jokes painted on like with the skeleton one of the shoulder is painted out of place due to my injury i got from playing american football.

I got this back a couple of weeks ago for a project =], it looks awsome. I also showed it my little cousin and she loved it, so i think is a hit.

Ol’over (past work)
we did this project for Williams Murray Ham as a re-brand project for Jamie Oliver’s new restaurant in London. The idea behind the packaging was to play on the fact of fast food boxes, i researched them an found the red is a colour that is supposed to make you hungry (alot of fast food chains use this colour). the brown cover though was kinda based on fast food due to the corrugated box but the brown was to present more of Jamie’s ideas of all natural and clean, (also good design). Alot of work also went in the the idea of recycling and low printing and making costs, so comes in the standard box and the sticker added on the other side for the meal. The animal cut out was kinda for show but also helped the consumer choose what type of meet or veg they want. take a look for yourself, View through PicLens for best view!…..
